An important aspect of a quality EMS training program is producing resilient EMS practitioners who can perform well in stressful situations. Stress Inoculation Training (SIT) desensitizes EMS practitioners to extraneous stressors. It also trains them to utilize intuitive decision-making driven by long-term working memory. Intuitive decision-making is a key component of high-performing individuals and teams, resulting in good patient outcomes. Consequentially, developing well-trained, adaptable, resilient EMS practitioners in rural areas may improve mortality rates.

The video on the left outlines our approach to Stress Inoculation Training in this project.
